Dose 2: Pfizer BioNTech 22nd July 2021 Batch No: FF4222-007
Dose 3: Pfizer BioNTech 24th January 2022 Batch No: PU072-025

To whom it may concern,

My husband Barry had a reaction to his second COVID vaccine injection within 24 hours of the vaccine, nearly 2 years ago.

He had his second vaccine on the 22nd of July and had a stroke on the night of the 23/07/21. I rang the health line in the morning and afternoon.

On the 24th of July 2021 I took him to A&H in Tauranga where he was admitted to hospital for a stroke. Symptoms- right sided weakness, right eye – loss of peripheral sight, aphasia, and loss of balance. In hospital for weeks but discharged early because of all the COVID cases in hospital. In July 2023 Barry lost his balance, had no energy and was sleeping most of the day. Still having issues with these symptoms.

December 2022 had to take him to A &H in Tauranga as he wasn’t well and was checked and sent to hospital where he was diagnosed with COVID and unfortunately a few days after I got it.

He then had a reaction to the booster as well – right sided pins and needles.

Barry’s issues are ongoing, in March 2023 he had another day when he was unresponsive and vomiting, I had to ring emergency services and he was taken to hospital, where he was checked, and it was put down to a viral gastritis.

He has had very little help other than some physio classes at the hospital which were never continuous due to staffing issues and bank holidays.

He has deteriorated in the last year with balance issues and has lost the peripheral vision of the right eye at the time of the stroke, has aspasia and no energy and he now has to attend aphasia classes.

He has always been fit, active and healthy with no underlying health conditions and has never been on medication.

It has been a big change to our lives, and we have had no help.

Kind regards
Pauline
