My story is in support of Aly Cook’s submission to the petitions committee requesting That the House of Representatives call for a Royal Commission of Inquiry in the safety and efficacy of Covid-19 vaccine use in New Zealand and for those in parliament who may read it. I give my full permission for my story to be shared publicly as part of Aly’s submission to be eventually posted on the NZ Parliament Petitions website.

1st dose: COVID19 Comirnaty 4th August 2021

Received my first and only shot on the 4/08/2021.
The booklet we received mentioned we would maybe have a sore arm and a headache which would soon recede.
For the first few days that is exactly what happened, then I noticed kidney pain, eyes that felt like they were full of grit, and I developed hot flushes. Any physical activity at all resulted in extreme sweating and exhaustion. The kidney pain and eyes full of grit subsided over a fortnight. The hot flushes I still experience probably three times a week. I suffered extreme chronic fatigue for 8 months and still have random days of that where I just have to sit down and wait it out.
I was loath to write to you as my experience is nothing compared to what a lot of others have experienced. On a visit to the doctor when I wanted to discuss what was going on with our bodies. He dismissed me with “I’ll stop the conversation right there” – he didn’t want to know.
My wife Heather also vaccinated on the same day, same batch. She experienced migraine type headache with tight pressure in her head, woozy and dizzy. She hadn’t experienced any hot flushes for 15 years and now they were back with a vengeance. Stinging eyes and sore behind them coming and going and that is still happening to the present time. She also suffers tiredness and fatigue. Her short-term memory now is nowhere as good as it was prior to the shot. I am worried for her.

We were fit active people prior to having the shot.
